I have to tell you how happy I am with the barrel that you built for me. It replaced the old shot-out original barrel that was on our family 1895 Mauser. As you can see by the attached photo, I added a Leupold VX-3 and built a custom laminate stock. I also had a wood-worker carve our family crest into the stock. He also added some deer bone highlights to the crest. Very cool.
I broke in the barrel according to your instructions. I’m very gald that I did because that old Mauser 95 is shooting 1″ groups at 100 yards!!! Needless to say, I am very inpressed with your work!
I presented the gun to my 82 year old father. I rarely see him get excited, but when he saw the rifle, he did!!! He only hunted birds (and the occasional coyote) when I was growing up, so his first deer hunting trip was last year when I took him out. He bagged a doe with my Howa .308 and was pretty please with himself! This year, however, I took him deer hunting with the Mauser. He bagged a 4X4!!! This was the 2nd time in a month that I saw him get excited!!
