Prefit barrels and full custom barrels will still be ordered directly through this site. The Semi-Custom process dovetails nicely with our product and serves the individual barrel customer well. In a nutshell, The Barrel Outlet starts the process of making Savage and Remington barrels from an inventory of factory fresh McGowen Precision barrel blanks. They have already been drilled, reamed, rifled and lapped. A barrel order begins life many steps ahead this way. The customer then gets to select their desired length, contour, threading, chambering.
As with all things in life, there is a small trade-off. The options on The Barrel Outlet are limited to the most popular configurations. The goal is to serve the most customers the quickest. You still receive the same exact barrel you would receive from McGowen Precision Barrels. Limited options, lightning fast turn-around. Inventory will be indicated on the website, and estimated delivery windows are posted before ordering. The current, pre-launch estimates are for an approximate 14 day turn-around.
